Better Project and Task Planning
It would be great if Focu could have an in-built task manager and project manager tab. Adding ‘scheduled’ dates as well as ‘due’ dates, could help Focu’s AI suggest what I should be working on today. I love Focu’s ADHD support features, but with my ADHD I struggle to confirm what I should be doing in a day - if Focu could tell me, that would be great. The other benefit of this, is if I just said: “Hi Focu, I want to focus on the ‘X’ project today”, Focu could pull up all the tasks within that project that I can work on. This blended with task dependency features as well as scheduling based upon a synced iCloud calendar would make it the PERFECT ADHD helper!
Integrate MacOS Calendar and Reminders
Some ideas on how to integrate: AI could have context on your current calendar and reminders AI could add things to your calendar and reminders
Support more operating systems
Currently only Mac Silicon chips are supported. Most prominently missing are: Linux Mac Intel Windows
Task list <> Todoist sync
Tasks entered in a specific project in Todoist should be automatically sync to Focu and visa versa.
Integrate external journal apps
Such as DayOne Journal or Apple Journal The app could allow you to import entries from other apps to talk about
Task Logging
Along the same lines as the planned journal mode, a quick action to log tasks completed throughout the day. Along with journaling where I’;m at / check-in, this will give the model a lot to discuss at the end of the day by correlating how I was doing, with when tasks were logged as working on / completed.
Minimal task list on menu bar
Currently, on the menu bar, Focu displays the Pomodoro timer. When you click on it, it shows the task you’re focusing on. I’m thinking of a simple task list that can be checked off directly from the menu bar, where each Pomodoro session can cover more than one task. It might be best to show the entire task list for the day with some extra options, like in this example: This way, everything stays clean and easy to manage right from the menu bar.
macOS: Widget support
Accessing Focu via desktop widgets would make it more accessible.
Copy tasks from yesterday...
…doesn’t work for me because I don’t run this app every day.

Cloud sync
It should be possible to sync your data via iCloud. Alternatively manual import and export of the database should be supported.
Improved Pomodoro
The pomodoro feature is quite basic, some easy ideas to improve it are: Sound during pomodoro (clock ticking?) Sound when pomodoro ends (alarm?) Popup when timer has ended, potentially with a “bounce”? With the ability to turn above settings on/off for the people who want it.
Floating Task Window and Timer
Having some sort of floating mini window for the task you are focusing on would be great to have to helpful forgetful folks like me. Here is an example:
Integrate Raycast Focus
Raycast focus can help block websites: https://www.raycast.com/core-features/focus With deeplinks it should be possible to start a Raycast focus session when we trigger a Focu focus session: https://manual.raycast.com/focus

AI should have more context ("memory")
Some ideas: Context on your other chats from today or the past Context on your current todo’s Context from 3rd party apps
Support Cloud AI/OpenAI compatible endpoints
Focu should support Cloud AI. There are two ways to do it: Bring your own API key (ie. any endpoint with OpenAI support should work) Subscription offered by Focu itself Also see https://focu.featurebase.app/p/accept-lm-studio-api
macOS: Minimize on close/Menu bar support
It would be great if Focu didn't quit on closing. Instead, it would be nice to have it run in the background or be accessible from the menu bar.
Data export/import
Currently data is stored in IndexedDB on the user’s device and is not easily accessible. We should add a feature to export and import this data. Even better if it can be done periodically to a folder of choosing.
Short permanent context
Focu should let users share some basic, permanent details about themselves to give better advice or suggestions. This could include things like their name, job, how they describe themselves, and what they’re hoping to achieve. This way, the app can tailor its responses to fit their needs more closely. A simple plain text editor should do the job.
macOS: Window is not easy to move
Moving the window via the top bar selects the text of the app and the window doesn’t move.
Show all chats instead of just by day
End of the year reflection
[Bug] Add task button fails on click
Seems to be a bug with the click action, sharing the recording for review https://app.gemoo.com/share/home?codeId=DWqakY0OxBZY4
Check-in history
The check-in history is stored in the app, but it’s currently not possible to view it. It would be nice to add a screen where the check-in history can be displayed, ie. with a graph of your selected answers.
